ORE Foods

At Binya, we are so proud to carry local artisans, makers, and entrepreneurs! This is part of core mission — to bring these businesses and people to you. We’d like to introduce you to a new maker: ORE FOODS! Ore foods makes hot sauces and man… are they good!

A Local Business with Nigerian Roots

Ore Foods is a family business located in Bluffton, SC. They produce One Drop Hot Sauce, which is tasty and spicy enough for the discerning palate. Our store owner, Lola Campbell, dares you to try the hot sauce…..she has only tasted the mild and says it’s pretty hot! Rich in flavor, the sauce is robust and packed with sweetness and spice. There are so many ways you can use the hot sauce, from steaks to seafood to wings, we know you will find a way to spice up any dish.

For over 15 years, Ore Foods has been making this all-natural hot sauce for family and friends. ORE Foods LLC was founded by Mr. Aderemi O. Olodun, an entrepreneur, U.S. military veteran, educator, father, and husband. His journey began with a desire to recreate the spicy flavors from his native Nigeria, and ORE embodies the essence of American family values.

Giving Back to Homeless Veterans

Ore Foods gives a portion of its sales to local charities, namely to veteran causes. Their passion is to end veteran homelessness. Not a handout, he says, but to help those who have served our country and get veterans on a path to be self-sufficient and lend a hand for Americans who have fought for our country. You can donate to end veteran homelessness on their website and help their cause!

One Drop Hot Sauce is designed to enhance the flavor of any dish or beverage. The team at Ore Foods believes in the joy of good food and great hot sauce, knowing that just a single drop can elevate a meal from ordinary to extraordinary. They encourage everyone to give it a try and you can pick up a bottle at Binya. Lola dares you to try the hot sauce…. let’s see if you can do it!

The Health Benefits from Eating Peppers

Peppers offer a variety of impressive health benefits and we had fun learning a lot from Ore’s website: https://www.orefoods.net/health-benefits

Peppers enhances digestive health and boosts metabolism, while also helping to alleviate migraine headaches and potentially lower cancer risks. Additionally, pepper combats fungal infections in the body, aids in relieving symptoms of colds and flu, and provides relief from joint pain. It reduces inflammation, supports cardiovascular health, and may decrease the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. These peppers are an excellent option for promoting heart health due to their high lycopene content, which is absent in green peppers. They also provide cholesterol-lowering soluble fiber and potent antioxidant vitamins A and C, both beneficial for cardiovascular health. Moreover, research indicates that eating spicy foods containing capsaicin can help reduce blood pressure. Statistics reveal that individuals who consume spicy foods daily have a 14 percent lower risk of death, diabetes, and cancer compared to those who eat them less than once a week. Additionally, there's new evidence that capsaicin, the ingredient that makes jalapenos, habaneros, and red pepper flakes blisteringly hot -- ups fat burning and lowers blood pressure. In addition, results revealed at the International Liver Congress™ in 2015 show that the daily consumption of capsaicin, the active compound of chili peppers, was beneficial for liver damage. In the study, capsaicin was found to reduce the activation of hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) in mice models.

See! Eating peppers and using this sauce can be good for you!

Buying the sauce supports Binya, a local business, supports Ore Foods, a local maker, supports homeless veterans, the cause that Ore donates to, and supports your heath, and spices up your foods…. we would say that’s a win-win-win-win-win-win, wouldn’t you?
